- STRATEGY 1 - Wait, because there aren't many homes on the market, and hope the mortgage rates drop and more homes come on the market? There will be new reasons once the mortgage rates drop, for example, it may be too competitive and multiple offers, or prices may go up 10-15% once the mortgage rates drop.
OR
- STRATEGY 2 - Actively look at homes and have a strategy to find off-market/unlisted homes where you see these and get a chance to buy before other buyers.
- Then, once you find a home, work with the lender to get a loan buydown so you pay a 5.5% mortgage instead of 7.5%.
